I understand why some people choose to have the “it is what it is” mentality. Sometimes, to avoid getting overwhelmed, I have to adopt this mentality too.

But I feel like this “it is what it is” mindset is such a cop-out. I believe in something a little more powerful and comforting than that.

We are creators of our own reality.

By saying “it is what it is,” you’re giving up that power.

I understand the freedom you think you have when you throw up your hands and say “it is what it is,” but isn’t that more like being a slave to your own fate?

Think About It

I’d rather be the master of my destiny, rather than sit back and let life just happen. I understand that some things are out control, but I can still control how I react to those situations.

So, no. That’s not “how it is.” I get to say how I want my life to be. And that feels soo much better.

Don’t you think?
